Hypnos Cotton Origins 7 - Responsive fibres coupled with supportive pocket springs encourage a fresh and rejuvenating sleep. Handcrafted and hand finished, these mattresses feature both wool and sustainably sourced cotton. The Hypnos Cotton Origins 7 is single sided, so no need to turn, with layers of soft cotton, and 100% British wool traceable to Red Tractor assured farms.

Cotton is grown in various locations around the globe but only 12% of the world’s cotton is certified as sustainable. It’s a soft, breathable fibre, which helps to keep heat away from the body and Hypnos has sourced both sustainable cotton fillings, but also cotton yarn for weaving into the damask that covers the mattress.

Red Tractor is the UK’s biggest food and farming scheme, making sure farms adhere to rigorous standards that cover the full farm supply chain, including animal welfare, traceability and environmental protection.

Wool can naturally regulate body temperature and moisture, helping to keep you cool in the summer and cosy in the winter, but it’s also naturally antibacterial, making it an ideal fibre for a mattress.

The Origins collection features generous layers of cotton and traceable wool. The Cotton Origins 7 by Hypnos no-turn mattress contains two fleeces of pure wool per mattress.

Hypnos’ expertly engineered pocket springs, ReActivePro™, with 7 active turns, provide total body comfort whilst Triple Edge Protection™ gives true edge-to-edge support.

The Cotton Orgins 7 is a no-turn mattress available in one tension and Zip and Link. The Origins range is designed to be paired with a sprung divan base.

  • This supportive no-turn mattress features a ReActivePro™ 7-turn pocket spring system with Triple Edge Protection™. Each spring independently senses your shape and weight distribution, providing support and total spinal and body support.
  • Upholstered with 2 fleeces of 100% British wool traceable to Red Tractor assured farms and covered with a naturally safe and fire-resistant sleep surface made from sustainably sourced cotton.
  • Tailored with 2 rows of genuine hand side stitching for additional edge-to-edge support, and hand tufted for long lasting comfort and support.

A Commitment to Sustainability and the Environment

Hypnos are committed to reducing their carbon footprint and to using environmentally friendly materials of the highest quality. In fact, they've made great strides in putting sustainability at the centre of everything they do.

From the use of renewable natural resources and carbon offsetting programmes, to supporting worthy charities, local schools and nurturing future talent, sustainability and corporate social responsibility is completely embedded within their business.

Over the last 11 years, they've undergone a comprehensive sustainability journey which led to them becoming the first carbon neutral bedmaker in the world. In fact, they're the only bed manufacturer to have held this prestigious title for nine years, having offset a total of 8748 tonnes of CO2, including 1165 tonnes in 2018/19 alone (via a variety of certified climate projects including planting trees in the UK and the Amazon plus helping to provide clean water in Uganda).

With a clear focus on low-carbon sustainable design, in support of their low energy handmaking processes, all their mattresses and beds are recyclable ensuring they never need to go to landfill. They're so committed to this that we've also pioneered the development of a disposal and recycling service for your old beds and mattresses, a service Now to Bed offer which ensures 100% of your old mattress is recycled.

In addition, they use the best materials sourced from around the world, including wool, horse hair, cotton and latex in our handcrafted beds. All these natural fibres are 100% biodegradable, recyclable at the end of their life and free of harmful and allergy-related chemicals - they do not use synthetic, chemical-based foams or memory foams in our beds.

What's more, the timber within their divan bases is from managed forests and sustainable sources that comply with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC® licence code FSC-C110890) and The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC™ licence code PEFC/16-37-1392). They've also gone the extra mile having passed the Sedex™ ethical trading audit, and with their sites in the UK achieving FSC® and PEFC™ multi-site Chain of Custody certification, guaranteeing full traceability.

Indeed, their environmental and responsible ethos stretches far beyond sustainable design, with a 'lean and green' operational culture which focuses on the minimisation of carbon emissions, energy and waste (they have eliminated factory waste to landfill, ensuring any waste goes to a recycling source). They are also the first bed maker to have successfully achieved compliance with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. This internationally-recognised voluntary certification is further proof of their sustainability leadership in the bed manufacturing industry.

They are the first bed maker to have achieved compliance with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

They only use the best materials sourced from all around the world.

They are also compliant with ESOS (Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme) which is a structured programme of energy audits designed to lower carbon emissions by identifying energy efficiency and reduction measures. In line with this commitment, they operate our Castle Donington site on a biomass heating system as well as purchasing 100% renewable electricity for the Princes Risborough site.

We provide an expert white glove delivery service. Your bed will be delivered by expert couriers to room of choice. Assembly is available at an additional cost on selected products in the cart.
